What a Gyrol Fluid Drive Can Do For You:
Gives and infinitely variable speed control. With truly stepless speed control over a wide range, i.e. 5:1 on variable torque loads and 4:1 on constant torque loads.Gives no-load starting...so you can use the most economical motor and starter.
Lets you use a simple, standard, low-cost induction drive motor, with standard motor starters. Allows adjustable speed and can easily accelerate high-inertia loads.
Eliminates power waste on centrifugal machines. Matches speed to load. You only operate as fast as you need to for proper flow at any time.
Limits torque...to protect the drive train or driven equipment.
Reduces maintenance, wear and noise in driven machines, since they run at reduced speeds much of the time.
Disconnects load from driver. Eliminates demand charges--and shock, wear and tear on starters, motors and gear trains.
Gives controlled acceleration/decceleration, at the rate you need...once the prime mover reaches full speed.
Transmits power at maximum efficiency...at 95% efficiency or more at design speeds.
Absorbs shock and torsional vibration in irregularly-loaded equipment such as ball mills and crushers. So you may be able to use lighter-duty gears and drive train.
Simple, rugged design means fewer problems. The only wearing parts are bearings, so maintenance is simple. And you can install the rugged, weather-proof housing anywhere, with less installation cost.
Gives better load sharing, on multi-motor installations such as long conveyors.
