The Flexxor Family
Type C
Type C Flexxors are high performance engineered couplings for special purpose and general use in turbines, motors, and gears, driving many kinds of machinery, such as pumps, compressors, aircraft drives, generators, ship propellers, etc. They are available in capacities up to 4,200,000 lb. ft. torque, and have very high speed limits. They have much greater misalignment tolerance than other common coupling types. Both C and CC Flexxors are made for API 671 and other high performance specifications.
Type CC
Type CC Flexxors are high performance engineered coupling and have 2 diaphragms packs at each end. They have twice the misalignment tolerance of Type C, and correspondingly lower axial and bending stiffness. They are particularly advantageous to allow for large thermally generated movement between coupled shafts.Type LC
Type LC Flexxors are the low speed version of C type couplings. These are generally used on turbine or motor driven pumps, reciprocating compressors, screw compressors, machine tools or indexing operations. These couplings are stocked in standard BSE distances. LC couplings meet API 610.Flywheel "Flexxors"
A Flywheel Flexxor is an LC coupling made to attach to a flywheel on one end and a standard hub on the other. It has the same torque capacity ratings of LC couplings and the same spring rates.Quill Shaft Flexxors
A popular Flexxor is the quill shaft Flexxor. These models are especially useful in eliminating overhung weight, permitting the use of small diameter seals, and in torsionally isolating the driver and driven machine.Floating Shaft or Cooling Tower Flexxors
These Flexxors use the basic Flexxor diaphrams at each end of a long tubular spacer. The spacer tubes, light in weight, and with relatively high stiffness factors are made of stainless steel or composite material.Large Flexxors

Torque couplings are designed to release at a pre-set value with eight a shear pin device or overload release clutch.Diaphragms
Several Flexxor diaphragm designs are available. The standard Flexxor C diaphragms provide ample misalignment and axial growth deflection capability. However, for unusual situations where increased axial expansion, or angularity is needed higher deflection "M" diaphragms are available.Close-Coupled Applications
For applications where shaft ends are close together, Coupling Corporation provides a reverse-mounted coupling with the flexible diaphragms up over the shafts and the hubs between them. These are contained within a longitudinally-split spacer sleeve, for easy installation.
